The best birdwatching websites
New sites will continue to be added and existing ones updated as far as possible. The app launched in April and just a year later has been downloaded by more than 10, users. Some will be well known locations, others may be less familiar. The development of the app is also a wonderful demonstration of what volunteers working together can achieve.
The project is the result of three years of in-depth research and meticulous planning by a small working group comprising Jane Allison, Martin Cook and Alan Knox, assisted by network of nearly local co-ordinators and contributors around the country. Helena Craig is a British Bangladeshi birder and conservationist, obsessed with watching them worldwide and saving them.
She is Chair of Black2Nature, which aims to give Visible Minority Ethnic people access to nature by making the sector ethnically diverse and relevant to those communities. He has been a keen birdwatcher since the age of nine. His main claim to ornithological fame is that he was three times winner of the now defunct Young Ornithologist of the Year competition, run by British Birds magazine in the mid to late 90s. The event is free and open to the public, students and all who work at the University but please register beforehand.

Welcome to the Bedfordshire Bird Club
The Society was founded in and, since that time, has expanded the range of activities provided for its members. LDBWS organises indoor meetings , where experienced birding experts give interesting talks to members, and, in association with the local RSPB members group and Lancashire Wildlife Trust, arranges field trips to a variety of locations. The society also collects records of birds seen in the area, organises local surveys of particular species or groups of species and contributes to national surveys arranged by the BTO and other bodies.
Members receive an informative Annual Report and quarterly newsletters.
